With more than 40 years of experience in public accounting and financial management, Joel has built a distinguished career delivering effective, cost-efficient, and independent audits for companies of all sizes—ranging from emerging businesses to publicly traded corporations—across the U.S. and internationally. A licensed CPA in the State of Florida, he has also led reviews, compilations, agreed-upon procedures, and due diligence engagements across a wide array of industries, including insurance, healthcare, pension and 401(k) plans, SOC 1 and 2 engagements, HOAs/COAs, staffing agencies, mortgage brokers and lenders, real estate, software development, financial services, professional firms, and not-for-profit organizations.

Joel’s career includes senior leadership roles at highly regarded accounting firms, where he served as Managing Partner and Partner-in-Charge of SEC, insurance, and healthcare clients. He has also held executive finance positions within insurance companies, where his responsibilities spanned GAAP and SAP reporting, tax, internal financial reporting, international consolidations, and reinsurance negotiations. Over the course of his career, Joel has performed more than 100 audits of property & casualty, life, and health insurance carriers—both domestic and offshore—for statutory, GAAP, and SEC purposes, as well as for mergers, acquisitions, and public offerings. His audit experience extends to insurance carriers in France, England, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, the Turks and Caicos, and both the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.

A frequent speaker at industry conferences across the United States, Joel has taught extensively on insurance accounting, GAAP, and regulatory issues. He is recognized for making complex financial topics clear and actionable, whether presenting to CPA peers, firm staff, or senior executives within the insurance industry. His presentations have covered subjects such as GAAP and regulatory reporting for carriers, captive structures, reinsurance transactions, and their financial impacts.

Beyond his professional career, Joel has been deeply committed to his community. He proudly served for over 25 years as the only independent member of the Audit Committee of the North Broward Hospital District (Broward Health), helping guide financial oversight and governance for one of the largest public health systems in Florida.
