Claribel Velazquez is a Partner at KSDT, where she provides strategic tax planning and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, families, closely held businesses, and real estate clients. She brings over a decade of experience and specializes in complex transactions involving the taxation of real estate partnerships, corporate entities, and high-net-worth individuals in the U.S. and abroad.

Claribel holds CPA licenses in both Florida and Puerto Rico and is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) and the Colegio de Contadores Públicos de Puerto Rico. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and works extensively with clients across Latin America.

Before joining KSDT  in 2024, Claribel held senior leadership roles at a leading advisory and CPA firm, where she managed complex client engagements, mentored professionals, and developed firm-wide training programs. She also authored technical publications and presented on a wide range of tax topics, including Section 163(j), bonus depreciation, tangible property regulations, and international compliance matters such as Schedules K-2 and K-3.

She began her career at a global Big Four firm, gaining experience in U.S. and Puerto Rico tax compliance, corporate consulting, including sales tax and Volume of Business Tax. Claribel earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, where she also completed a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

As part of her expanding practice, Claribel now advises US individuals and businesses relocating to Puerto Rico offering guidance on the tax incentives available. She supports the creation of transfer pricing studies and related compliance planning.
